Rainbow Tour Palcoyo embark on an unforgettable adventure, a breathtaking journey through the stunning landscapes of the Andes. We will pick you up from your hotel between 4:30 AM and 5:00 AM, and then set off on a 3-hour drive through the picturesque towns of Urcos, Cusipata, and Checacupe, before arriving at the town of Combapata. From there, we continue our scenic route for 1 hour and 40 minutes along the left bank of the Salka River, reaching our starting point at 4,790 meters (15,715 ft) at Wallata Q’asa, near the Palcoyo community.
The Rainbow Tour Palcoyo offers a gentle and accessible hike with stunning views of the Warsaqyani Mountain and the vibrant Q’alle Q’alle hill, famous for its multicolored mineral formations. The trail leads to the Stone Forest of Yura’q Qaqa, an impressive rock formation standing at 4,960 meters (16,273 ft), creating an otherworldly landscape. The total trekking distance is approximately 2 kilometers, making it a fantastic alternative for those who prefer a shorter and less strenuous hike compared to Vinicunca.
At the Stone Forest, you will have time to take in the breathtaking views and capture incredible photos of this unique Andean scenery. After exploring, we will descend back to the parking area and head towards Cusipata, where a delicious traditional lunch awaits.
